Media Report: US and Germany’s positions on Kyiv’s NATO membership show signs of softening

The positions of Washington and Berlin on Kyiv’s NATO membership show signs of softening ahead of the Vilnius Summit on July 11-12, Politico said citing diplomatic sources, APA reports.

It’s reported that NATO’s Eastern European allies were able to reach a compromise on this point. The bloc’s members are anticipated to “go beyond the vague promise” of Ukraine’s membership in the Alliance at the summit.

“The U.S. and Germany positions softened a few days before the summit,” according to the publication.
